1. The partnership
BrightTails partners introduce dog owners to our monthly subscription support service using a unique referral link or QR code. Partners are referral partners, not insurers, insurance intermediaries, employees or representatives authorised to enter agreements on behalf of Bright Tails Ltd.
BrightTails manages customer onboarding, plan payments, customer accounts and support requests. Partners do not handle customer payments or decide whether financial support is provided.
2. Applying and getting started
Dog groomers, pet shops, dog walkers, trainers, kennels, rescue organisations, veterinary-related and other pet-focused businesses can apply, including online businesses. Applications are reviewed by BrightTails; submitting an application does not automatically create an approved partnership.
Once approved and your account is created, you receive access to your partner portal and your unique referral code. Free display materials, leaflets and QR posters are available through the partner programme. There are no sales targets or customer-administration commitments.
3. Referral links and tracking
Share your assigned BrightTails link or QR code. A visit records a click; a customer creating an account with your code records a sign-up. Clicks alone do not earn commission. The customer must complete onboarding and make a confirmed first plan payment for the referral to become successful.
Ask customers to check their referral code during sign-up. Self-referrals and duplicate rewards for the same customer are not eligible. Use your partner portal to compare clicks, sign-ups and successful referrals. If something appears missing, contact us with the relevant details so we can review it.
4. Commission and payout stages
You earn £10 for each successful referral. This is a referral reward, not a recurring share of every monthly customer payment. Unpaid or incomplete sign-ups do not qualify.
- Pending: the customer has signed up but their first payment has not been confirmed.
- On hold: a successful referral is within the 30-day hold period.
- Due / processing: the hold has ended and the eligible commission appears in the monthly payout records for review and payment.
- Paid: BrightTails has recorded the payout as paid, and this is reflected in your partner portal.
Passing the hold period does not mean an automatic same-day bank transfer. Keep your bank details accurate and confirmed in Payment Details. Where bank details are locked for security, contact support to request a change. Missing or incorrect details may delay payment.
5. Referral milestones
The current partner milestone rewards are shown below. They are separate from the £10 referral commission. Reaching a milestone is shown in your portal; contact the partner team to confirm the bonus and its payment status.
| Successful referrals | Milestone bonus |
|---|---|
| 20 | £25 |
| 50 | £75 |
| 100 | £150 |
| 250 | £400 |
| 500 | £900 |
| 1,000 | £2,000 |
6. Promoting BrightTails responsibly
Use accurate, current information and approved BrightTails advertising materials. Make it clear that you may receive a referral reward. Do not make misleading claims, send unsolicited promotions, create false accounts or promise guaranteed financial support.
BrightTails is not a pet insurance provider. Its plans are subscription services; financial support is discretionary, subject to the full eligibility requirements, the continuous 24-month waiting period, evidenced eligible costs and the applicable maximum limit. An active plan or successful referral does not guarantee a support payment.
Customers should read the full Terms & Conditions and make their own decision. Partners must not offer medical advice or interpret a customer's eligibility on BrightTails' behalf.
7. Privacy and account security
Let customers provide their details directly to BrightTails through the sign-up process. Do not collect passwords, card details, medical documents or claim evidence for us. Protect your own partner login and keep your business and contact details up to date.
Your portal provides referral and payout information for your partnership; use it only for legitimate partnership administration. Our Privacy Policy explains how BrightTails handles personal information.
8. Second Chance Fund
BrightTails contributes 10% of revenue to the Second Chance Fund. Referrals help the BrightTails service grow and support this contribution. The fund is governed by the separate Second Chance Fund Policy; being a partner does not create an entitlement to funding.
9. Changes, account restrictions and ending a partnership
If you want to stop promoting BrightTails, contact the partner team. BrightTails can restrict or disable partner account access while reviewing account concerns. If there is a referral, tracking or payout dispute, contact us for a review rather than assuming that a displayed amount is a completed transfer.
Any proposed changes to your partnership, reward arrangements or the treatment of outstanding eligible commission should be confirmed with the partner team in writing. This policy describes the programme and does not change any separately agreed written partner terms.
10. Partner support
Use Contact Support in your partner portal, email support@brighttails.co.uk, or call 0330 043 9442 for help with referrals, materials, bank details or payouts.
